MID AMERICA JET

A&P Mechanic

A&P Mechanics perform a variety of mechanical duties on various aircraft models including, but not limited to the following: diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery to customer.

Core Schedule

  • Days: Monday thru Friday
  • Hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Some on call or evening/weekend hours may be required.

You would be responsible for

  • Performs intermediate/heavy maintenance tasks without supervision
  • Performs airframe, powerplant and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements
  • Performs routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems
  • Performs turbine engine troubleshooting, inspection, repair and engine run-ups
  • Conducts airframe system, component changes and systems checkout
  • Performs installation of service bulletins and kits on airframes and engines
  • Ability to comprehend and complete all Aircraft Manufacturer Scheduled Maintenance items
  • Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems
  • Interprets technical manuals, drawings, and blueprint
  • Required to sign for work accomplished including troubleshooting deferred maintenance items and ensure proper recording of all maintenance tasks on company documents
  • Building of customer invoices using labor calculations, purchase orders, and parts mark-up calculations
  • Uses equipment such as tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, timing lights, and a variety of hand tools to repair or modify systems or assemblies.
  • Keep a constant watch for safety and ensure work performed adheres to the highest quality standards
  • Monitor to reduce excessive cost of labor duplication
  • Ensure proper and adequate equipment is used, acceptable parts or components are installed, and approved hardware or supplies are used

Minimum Qualifications

  • A&P License is required
  • Requires a minimum of 1 years’ experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, aircraft/flight maintenance or airframe sheet metal maintenance. Must have experience in MROs
  • Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment
  • Preferred experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repair of aircraft.
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Requires use of arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications plus knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles
  • Flexibility in scheduling required
  • Some travel required
  • Must successfully pass background check and drug test
  • Ability to read and respond to E-Mail communications 

Line Service Technician

Job Summary

Line Service Technicians are responsible for safe ground operations on the airfield and delivering outstanding customer service. Our Line Service Technicians provide ground services for private aircraft by anticipating the needs of our customers, ensuring safety and service are top priorities, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all who visit our FBO locations.

Core Schedule

  • Variable – Airport open 7 days/week 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • On call or evening/weekend hours required.

You would be responsible for

  • Parking and marshaling aircraft 
  • Aircraft towing on ramp and in/out of hangars 
  • Aircraft fueling
  • Safety First Mentality recognizing and practicing all safety policies and procedures.
  • Sort, route, load and unload packages from aircraft.
  • Operate tugs, trucks, and follow me vehicles (includes providing transport for flight crews and passengers
  • Quality Control for Fuel Farms
  • Direct and coordinate ramp movement for all arriving and departing aircrafts
  • Operation of Point of Sale, including accurate billing to customers. (Location Specific)
  • Other Responsibilities includes initiatives to provide concierge level service to our patrons
  • Upselling customers to increase revenue at your assigned location

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior Experience in General Aviation and Line Service strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up 50lbs.
  • The employee must regularly be able to stand for up to 8 hours, while bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Must successfully pass background check and drug test
  • Ability to read and respond to E-Mail communications. 

Chief Inspector

The Chief inspector is involved with day-to-day decisions of aircraft airworthiness. Directing and orienting Inspectors to execute their work in accordance with the task requirements; in line with the Repair Station procedures and ensuring compliance to FAA regulations.

• Some on call or evening/weekend hours may be required.

You would be responsible for
• Plans, organizes, staffs, controls, and directs the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Department
• Promotes aviation safety by ensuring airworthy and quality aircraft maintenance and supports the facility FAA Accountable Manager related to FAA activities.
• Works with the Accountable Manager to Develop and maintain approved FAA accepted Repair Station/Quality Control Manual (RSM/QCM). Maintains the training manual, ops spec and capabilities documents.
• Develops strategic plans for continuous improvement of quality.
• Administers Vendor Audit Programs and approved vendor list.
• Manages random audit programs and facility bi-annual self-audits.
• Provides the requirements of the Training Program including recordkeeping requirements & the training manager reports directly to the CI.
• Ensures quality management systems are established, implemented, and maintained.
• Reports on the performance of the quality management system to top management for the review of its effectiveness and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
• Responsible for the Corrective Action Program, designed to detect a nonconformance   or undesirable condition, correct it and prevent its recurrence.
• Responsible for approval, addition and/or deletion of services and material supplier vendors. May delegate to Materials Manager but retains responsibility.
• Controls Inspector/Production/Training Stamp program and maintains the Repair Station rosters.
• Determines criteria used for Repairman Eligibility, such as testing, performance evaluations etc.
• Recommends qualified individuals for Repairman’s Certificate.
• Maintains Job Descriptions for all management, inspection, and certificated personnel.
• Monitors performance and attendance of Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel.
• Prepares and conducts performance evaluations, recommends personnel action, including salary recommendations, per company policy for assigned personnel.
• Ensures that employees assigned to perform each task have documented training.
• Is final authority for returning aircraft to service after strip, paint, flight control installation and balance, weight check requirements and other processes authorized on the Repair Station’s Op Spec.
• Ensures Corrective/Preventive Actions relating to his/her assigned processes and procedure, are initiated and/or completed in a timely manner as required by the Quality Management System.
• May delegate authority but retains responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications
• A/P Certified (current)
• 5 years Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control experience
• 10 years aircraft mechanic experience preferred.
• Proven leadership skills and operations experience with line and or heavy maintenance programs
• Computer skills and ability to manage/update company manuals as required
